The Return of Neo-Brutalism in Web Design

For the last decade, web design has been dominated by soft drop shadows, rounded corners, and hyper-minimalist white space. But the pendulum is swinging back.

Neo-brutalism is taking over the internet. It rejects the overly sterile corporate look in favor of raw, high-contrast layouts. Think pitch-black borders, solid drop shadows, and vibrant, clashing colors that feel almost architectural in their rigidness.

"Design shouldn't always fade into the background. Sometimes, it needs to punch you in the face."

Accessibility and Contrast

Interestingly, despite its aggressive visual style, neo-brutalism is inherently accessible. The heavy borders and extreme contrast ratios naturally satisfy WCAG guidelines, making the web easier to navigate for visually impaired users.
